Your custom made jewelry by artist Sarah Buckles-Larner will become the most treasured pieces that you wear. Made with a western flair, Sarah is highly well known for her creation of mountain rings that celebrate your favorite mountain range or peak with a piece of jewelry. You may see her signature twisted rope framing a gemstone or twisted along the band of an engagement ring. The western touch can be as simple or as ornate as you choose.

How are Mountain Rings Crafted?

The creation of mountain rings will either begin with a favorite mountain peak or range or with a personal story that you want to tell. Each of Sarah’s mountain rings are uniquely designed, so that your pieces are tailored just for you. Her work is of the highest quality and artistic merit.

Sarah begins the process of creating and crafting her mountain rings by researching and studying photographs of the mountains you requested to be honored within your jewelry. Then she will carefully carve the scene into wax, using the lost-wax method. The picture is cast into plaster molding and then molten gold or silver is centrifugally shot into the plaster area. This melts the wax and leaves a mold cavity.

Mountain rings are also ideal for maximizing the use of a family heirloom, such as a grandmother’s set of diamonds or your children’s birthstones. Sarah has created pieces for customers that have placed a solitaire diamond above a sole mountain peak so it represents the moon. She has also placed several baguettes above a mountain range for a starlit skyline. The limit is your imagination. Sarah is also well known for her ability to make two toned jewelry with 14 or 18 karat golds, white gold, and/or sterling silver. This brings additional depth and character to the jewelry.
